# Adjudicated corrections ledger

## 2026-06-28 — Modern enrollment off-by-one + 26 residual PDF corrections

**Resolves the deferred observation at the foot of the 2026-06-11 master-reconciliation
entry** ("JS enr_trend year-labels are inconsistently aligned vs the gz/master ...
worth a future systematic pass"). That systematic pass is done.

**1. Modern JD-enrollment off-by-one (PR #138, merged).** The curated `enr_trend`
for 2018–2025 held the *prior* academic year's grants population instead of the
present-year "J.D. Enrollment as of October [Y]" census. Re-sourced from the gz
present-year census (`history[Y].enr`); **1,383 cells across 201 schools**. Legacy
2011–2017 untouched (already correct; the gz legacy enr is itself +1-shifted at the
source — a separate follow-up). Verified vs the ABA PDF (CUNY 2020 = 672) and an
independent PDF-verified dataset (99.6% match, 0 regressions). Cooley 2023–2025
excluded (multi-campus; gz under-reports). Guard added in `scripts/reconcile_gz.py`:
2018+ `enr_trend` must equal the gz present-year census, else the build fails. Full
write-up: `pipeline/ENR_OFFSET_FIX.md`; tooling: `pipeline/fix_enr_modern_offset.py`.

**2. 26 residual PDF/master-verified corrections** (the cells our data still missed,
all HIGH-confidence in the upstream 2026-06-27 corrections log, applied via
`pipeline/apply_pdf_corrections_2026-06-28.py`):

Note: **Missouri-Kansas City 2025 enr** reverses the 2026-06-22 ledger entry
(405 → 554). The 554 was the grants-section "Total # of students" (prior-year
denominator); re-sourcing the 509 PDF's JD-enrollment grand total (sum-verified)
gives **405**. The gz still holds the corrupt 554, so this cell is added to
`ENR_DRIFT_EXCEPT` rather than overwriting the gz (same handling as Cooley).

## 2026-06-22 — PDF-validated corrections applied to exhibit-data.js + gz

29 cells from the HANDOFF.md correction table (commit a4ef51a2 had applied these
to the xlsx only; exhibit-data.js and gz were never updated until now).

24 cells: UNLV 2011 LSAT + UGPA(25/50) + tui/nrt 2011–2012; UIC enr 2016=938;
Howard enr 2021=467; UDC enr 2019–2021 + tui/nrt 2020; UC-SF fac 2016=64; UPR nrt
2015=9119; Pontifical PR UGPA 25/50/75 2014–2015 (FT column). **UDC 2020 tuition**
was supplied per-semester (6,219/12,437 = half the neighbors) and stored **annual**
(×2 = 12,438/24,874). **Held:** UNLV gpa75 2011 (supplied 3.43 duplicated the
median and is below 2012's 3.63) and UNLV tui/nrt 2013 (26,437 spikes above its
24,749 neighbors). validate + reconcile_gz --strict clean. Missing 32 → 10.

## 2026-06-18 — UIC enr corrections (owner-sourced)

`enr_trend` 2023: 1044 → 987, 2025: 988 → 1015 (the 2025 trend point disagreed
with the `enr` scalar, which was already 1015; owner confirmed 1015). enr scalar
+ gz `current`/history synced. validate + reconcile_gz --strict clean.

UIC total-JD enr 2013/2014/2015 = 1278/1138/1021 (owner-sourced; bridges 1466→938 —
the earlier 404/357/334 were 1L, not total). enr 2016 still pending (~975).

## 2026-06-18 — UNLV (Boyd) filled from raw 509 PDF

47 cells from the multi-year Boyd 509 compilation. Report-label = dataset-year
(the 2017 report is explicitly "Fall 2017" and flows into existing 2018; no
offset). Applied: tui/nrt 2014–2017 (annual FT), LSAT/UGPA 25/50/75 2012–2017
(FT column for the old Total/FT/PT format, single set for 2017+), enr 2019–2021
= 444/445/449 (matches the owner's earlier 444). HELD: tui/nrt 2011–2013 (the old
reports' tuition isn't cleanly in the file) and LSAT/UGPA 2011 (no 2011 cycle in
the PDF — earliest is 2012). validate + reconcile_gz --strict clean. Missing 82 → 35.

## 2026-06-18 — UNT Dallas filled from raw 509 PDF (3 of 3 PDF schools)

40 cells from the multi-year 509 compilation (school opened Fall 2014; 2011–2013
are null, pre-founding). Report-year = dataset-year confirmed by exact enr matches
(Fall 2017=423, 2018=384). Applied: tui/nrt 2014–2017 (annual FT, res 14369→16349),
LSAT/UGPA 25/50/75 2014–2017 (FT column), enr 2019–2022 = 375/389/380/378 (total JD).
Faculty 2014–2017 = 4/5/8/16 (FT faculty inaugural ramp; force-written past the
<0.5× neighbor guard — flag: 509 faculty-year labels may differ from the existing
rebuilt fac convention, worth a later cross-check). validate + reconcile_gz --strict
clean. Missing 122 → 82. UNLV still pending its PDF.

## 2026-06-18 — UMass Dartmouth filled (1 of 3 PDF schools)

59 cells from the owner's 509 figures: enr 2019–2021 (280/358/365 total JD — fits
the 226→376 neighbors) and LSAT/UGPA 25/50/75 + tui/nrt for 2011–2017. Percentiles
ordered, resident < nonresident tuition; validate + reconcile_gz --strict clean.
Missing 181 → 122. UNLV and UNT Dallas still pending their raw PDFs.

## 2026-06-18 — Owner confirmations of batch-2 held cells

Owner adjudicated the 19 batch-2 suspects (13 cells written across 5 schools;
validate_data + reconcile_gz --strict clean; missing 194 → 181):
- **UC-SF fac 2011–2015 = 67/56/57/64/62** (FT, spring/fall averaged) — applied;
  the 154–195 first sent were total faculty. 2016 still open.
- **St Thomas-MN enr 2011/2012/2014/2015 = 438/448/376/345** (total JD) — applied;
  the 134–161 first sent were 1L (2013=405 already on file).
- **Western State enr 2012 = 470** (total JD) — applied (was 1L 83).
- **Widener Delaware enr 2011/2012 = 947/811** (total JD) — applied (was 1L 252/268).
- **Southern Illinois enr 2013 = 129** — owner-confirmed total; sits far below its
  348/349 neighbors, a **likely ABA mis-report** — written as given (--force) and
  flagged here so the dip is documented, not silently "fixed".
- **Duke fac 2025** — owner has only TOTAL (211); field is FT (66→98) → left missing.
- **UIC enr 2013–2015** — supplied 445/349/356 still read as 1L vs the real total-JD
  series (1479→1466→938); HELD pending total-JD figures.

Second owner CSV, applied via the new reusable `scripts/apply_fills.py` (same
FT/PT conventions as batch 1; 0/blank held; already-populated cells skipped; a

### 55 missing cells filled from the owner's `missingdata.csv` upload
Owner sourced values for a subset of the gap list (the `audit_gaps.py --csv`
export). Applied to `data/exhibit-data.js` trends **and** the gz history (18
schools); `validate_data` + `reconcile_gz --strict` clean. Field conventions
(gz key in parens) — the upload split each value into Full-time / Part-time:
- **enr / apps / offers = FT + PT total** (gz `enr`/`apps`/`offers`, no `_ft`
  suffix; confirmed by Capital 2019 FT 277 + PT 132 = 409 = the 2018 neighbor,
  and Atlanta JM offers/apps = the stored acceptance rate). FT/PT columns summed
  where both given; otherwise the FT figure stands.

### Held merge/split cases — owner-adjudicated
- Rutgers 2013 (merged entity): apps 1,852 -> 3,109, offers 730 -> 1,082
  (Camden 1,257/352 + Newark 1,852/730 combined; curated had Newark-only, gz had
  Camden-only). Flagged ("rutgers-university", apps/offers) in overrides.py.
- Widener Commonwealth 2012: apps 1,869 -> 1,214, offers 1,033 -> 627. Curated had
  duplicated Widener Delaware's figure onto Commonwealth; gz (and owner) agree on
  1,214/627. Delaware's 2012 (1,869/1,033) was already correct, left as-is.
- Widener coordinates (both shared one wrong point 39.8521/-75.3877):
  Delaware (Wilmington) -> 39.81748, -75.54646; Commonwealth (Harrisburg)
  -> 40.32409, -76.85456. Fixes the shared-pin geo bug.


Curated/display-layer corrections that override a raw ABA cell in
`data/exhibit-data.js`. The raw gz (`data/exhibit_data.json.gz`) keeps the
original ABA value as the source of record; on a source re-upload + re-extract
the gz is regenerated, but curated overrides for existing schools persist.

Corrections flagged on the interactive chart (amber hollow ring + hover note)
are registered in `FIXES` in `index.html`; nonresident-only and percentile
fixes that don't surface on the resident chart are recorded here only.

  (was ~$12k; fixes the scalar-vs-trend drift warning too).
- **Texas Southern** 2024 res 18,582 / nr 25,632 (was 12,645 / 20,049).

- **Cornell** 2019 res=nr 67,748 (superseded the Tier-2 sheet's 65,541).

- **South Carolina** 2021 res 9,653 / nr 25,661 (reverted my fit-trend 18,556; ABA per-semester figure, shown as reported with a note).

- North Dakota 2020 resident 14,296 -> 15,296 (ABA figure; fits the 2019 $15,618 / 2021 $15,011 bracket). Nonresident 2018-2020 (29,644 / 42,836 / 42,888) confirmed correct by owner.

2026-06-13 (v1.94.33) — anomaly-scan follow-ups:
- Marquette bar_trend 2024: 0% → 99.46% (WI diploma privilege; ABA Total First-Time incl. alt pathways; 1 of 186 grads took the exam). Source: marquette_2024 ABA 509.
- trans_gpa50 nulled where an LSAT-scale value sat in the GPA field and no source GPA exists: Georgia State 2014 (151), Mitchell/Hamline 2019 (149), St. Mary's 2015 (146). 2023-25 transfer file does not cover these years.

2026-06-13 (v1.94.34) — Faculty rebuild 2011-2025 from ABA source files:
- Root cause: a 2017 ABA definition change (pre-2017 "Full-Time Fall Total" excludes deans/librarians who teach; 2017+ "Total FT" includes them) plus per-school source inconsistency (some carried total-incl-adjunct counts at 3-4x the real FT, e.g. Loyola Chicago ~200 vs real ~67).
- Rebuilt fac_trend (all 210 schools) to one consistent measure: 2011-2016 = Full-Time Fall Total + Deans/librarians-who-teach Fall Total; 2017-2022 = "Total FT"; 2023-2025 = "FTTotal". Boundary verified exact (Akron 21+11=32; Baylor 33; Loyola 67).
- Faculty 1-year V-dips/spikes 35 -> 1 (remaining = Arizona Summit's real pre-closure collapse). fac_ft scalars + gz in sync.

2026-06-13 (v1.94.35) — Transfer-GPA column transpositions from ABA source:
- 9 file cells report 25th > 75th (impossible) = a 25<->75 transposition at the source; corrected by swapping 25<->75 (50th unchanged): George Mason 2017, GWU 2017, Fordham 2019 & 2024, UNLV 2019, Rutgers 2020, SMU 2020, Florida State 2021, Michigan 2024. Fordham 2024 & Michigan 2024 were blank in our data, filled with corrected order.
- Mitchell/Hamline transfer 50th is a bad-scale LSAT value in the source (149 in 2019, 154 in 2025) -> kept null.
- Pre-2016 transfer files are counts-only (ABA added GPA ~2016), confirming the Georgia State 2014 / St. Mary's 2015 nulls. Transfer counts verified accurate (8/600 trivial diffs).

2026-06-13 (v1.94.36) — Enrollment + acceptance data-quality pass (owner master-adjudicated):

ENROLLMENT (enr_trend = total JD; reconciled vs master JD Enrollment & Ethnicity -> TotalGrandTotal):
- Howard 2021: 0 -> null (open-circle gap). Master TGT shows 467, but owner directed the cell be shown as not-reported; JS + gz both set null.
- Ohio Northern 2022: 0 -> 178 (master TGT; owner note said 467 but that is outside ON's 88-320 history and equals Howard's 2021 figure listed above it -> transcription slip, owner confirmed 178).
- Ohio Northern 2024: 0 -> 241 (master TGT; owner-flagged low-confidence/bad-data year, but master and gz agree).
- Penn State Dickinson 2017: 402 -> 193 (master TGT; was a total-vs-1L style spike). gz 2017 node created with enr=193.
- Wyoming 2021: 450 -> 229 (master TGT; the 450 spike was a stray ~2x value).
- Widener Commonwealth 2012: 811 -> 122 (owner value; pre-2015 split year, master's early "WIDENER-COMMONWEALTH" column is unreliable for the standalone Harrisburg campus).
- Cooley 2015: 423 -> 550 (owner: Lansing campus only). NOTE: neighboring Cooley years are all-campus totals (2014=1742, 2016=1209), so the 2015 cell is intentionally Lansing-only per owner.

ACCEPTANCE (acc_trend = acceptance %; reconciled vs master First Year Class -> AcceptanceRate. gz already held correct 1dp values; only the JS trend was corrupted):

Method: byte-safe S-object splice (all 210 objects round-trip identical) + gz compaction; reconcile-before-apply diff against Exhibit_509_Master_updated_20260613.xlsx. Staging tooling in pipeline/_staging/.
Observation (not changed, out of scope): the JS enr_trend year-labels are inconsistently aligned vs the gz/master across schools (e.g. Howard's series sits +1 year vs master; Cooley's is same-year) -- likely a disclosure-cycle vs fall-year labeling mix worth a future systematic pass.
